Playing Our Part: Ubisoft Philippines Reaches Out to Local Communities

In response to the pandemic, Ubisoft Philippines has been sending support not only to our team members, but also to those who have been most vulnerable during this time.

We’ve donated to local communities – our healthcare workers in Laguna, displaced university service workers, and student scholars in Cebu.

This is how we’re #PlayingOurPart.

DONATION TO MEDICAL CITY

We donated to Medical City, a local hospital near our studio, for the construction of a new COVID-19 facility, the Complex of Hope.

Built with smart houses, the facility includes detached staff quarters, along with essential telemedicine equipment that will allow for the remote processing and monitoring of patient data.

We are pleased to share that the facility opened last May 2020 and has since catered to a lot of Filipinos, serving as one of the main treatment centers in the country.

ASSISTANCE TO DISPLACED SERVICE WORKERS

Our team members have also personally donated to the Lasallians Care Project, a fund-raising initiative of De La Salle University (DLSU) to provide income to its external service workers, who have been out work since the quarantine.

We are grateful for our team’s efforts and generosity. We matched their total donations and added more to the amount, doubling the support for the project.

With this, the project assures that over 500 affected DLSU workers – maintenance staff, construction workers, and concessionaires – will receive enough financial assistance.

Ubisoft Philippines is in close partnership with DLSU, where we co-teach two full courses in Interactive Entertainment and hold in-campus talks and workshops.

UBI-SPONSORED SCHOLARS

Together with Passerelles Numériques (PN), Ubisoft Philippines has been funding the 3-year schooling and on-the-job training of student scholars in Cebu. PN is a French non-profit organization that provides tech and IT education to underprivileged youth.

Through our partnership, we sponsored the education of 10 scholars, who graduated in 2019. Since then, we've kept our commitment to provide a future for the youth by sponsoring a new batch of 10 students starting June 2019.

In light of the COVID-19 situation, we gave PN's financial grant ahead of schedule, providing all financial installments in August 2020. This will cover the rest of the students’ education and on-the-job training, helping secure their future.
