Year 8
The Shield of Svengard
Years ago, the warrior known as Gudmundr the Great fought to prevent the destruction of Svengard at the hands of the Blackstone Legion. Dedicated to the protection of the Viking Faction, Gudmundr made the ultimate sacrifice. Now, his fellow brothers and sisters hold a glorious funeral for the fallen Warlord.
But as they uphold the tradition of the breaking of a fallen warrior’s weapons, the Vikings make a startling discovery: Gudmundr’s sword and shield are indestructible. Upon this revelation, the people begin to tall grand, mythical tales of Gudmundr and his unbreakable weapons.
Death will not stop Gudmundr’s legend. His story will live on. Forever shall the Shield of Svengard endure.
Learn MoreThe Muramasa Blade
Long ago, the Samurai sought to maintain their way of life in a land that wasn’t their own. Everything they since built in the swamps has long been under threat from war and oppression. No target is more vulnerable than Seion Bridge, a crucial access point to the Myre. Now, enemies of the Samurai are gathering.
But at the mouth of the bridge, these invading forces face a single warrior: Master Katashi. Expert swordsman. Genius tactician. Strict follower of Bushido. Above all, he is the wielder of the fabled Muramasa Blade—a weapon said to grant the power of an entire army.
Master Katashi has made it his mission to protect the Myre at all costs, and stop anyone from crossing the bridge…
Learn MoreThe Sword of Ashfeld
When the Cataclysm wreaked havoc on the world, all was lost. The once great order of Knights, whose tales of heroism and gallantry abounded, was razed to the ground. In the wastelands, what survivors remained were hopeless. All scavenged for food and water. And the strong preyed on the weak.
But in the gloom of ash, there came a beacon of light: the Unsung Knight. A lone Warden, who made it her mission to help those in need. To use Valor’s Edge, the sword bequeathed unto her, to fight back against pillagers and invaders – and to bring hope to her people.
For it was said this legendary sword would one day, in the bleakest of times, unite the Knights once more…

Heresy
The relics were supposed to unite Heathmoor. Instead, madmen began to rave about their legends as divine revelation. Soon every place of worship came to be occupied by the fanatical Servants of the Stake. Whispers spread of the dark deeds committed in the name of their twisted faith. In answer, the Relic Inquisition was formed. Their mission: purge all heresy.
Yinchen joined the Inquisition with a righteous heart. A Pirate, she had seen firsthand how civilizations fall to false idols. Executing Fanatics was the price for peace. But the Inquisition was not content to merely pluck weeds – and Yinchen found herself party to mass butcherings worse than anything the Servants had done.
Now Inquisitor Yinchen cries mutiny. To end the war of faith, she must fight not one army, but two.
Learn MoreVengeance
Whispers of a New World recently reached the Horkos. The brutal explorer Conquistador Vela set sail with a fleet to investigate. What she found exceeded all rumors: vast cities of gold, the precious metal plentiful as mud. But this civilization would not suffer invasion so easily. They challenged the Conquistadors to fight at a set time and a place – an odd custom Vela pretended to agree to, before she ambushed them.
Now the Horkos return in triumph. Obscene amounts of gold and treasure fill Vela's Castle. But her greatest prize of all is the enemy combatant she's captured: the strongest warrior from the New World. Many Horkos lives were lost in taking the prisoner. Kept caged and hidden, this spectacular fighter will soon be unveiled before Astrea for a public execution.
Until then, the Horkos celebrate.
Learn MoreDeceit
Across Heathmoor, poor warriors left displaced by constant warring received invitations from members of the Wu Lin elite. The rich hosts were holding a Ghost Festival, a celebration to honor and entertain the spirits of their ancestors, and all warriors were summoned to the festivities.
But there were rules. Stay indoors at night. Fight not near water. And most importantly of all -- never eat the offerings for the dead. Such rules had long been a ward against wrathful spirits. Sadly, the delicious offerings proved much too alluring for the hungry warriors. A few guests indulged themselves, and soon, many more followed.
It was exactly what the hosts intended...
Learn MoreTreason
Exploiting the injustice sweeping Heathmoor, the Order of Horkos attacked Valkenheim. They soon laid siege to the village of Moldar. The small Viking town had no hope against the might of the enemy host, and so the Horkos gave them one choice: submit or die.
The leaders of Moldar came to blows over the decision. The village chieftain refused to break their oath to the Chimera Alliance, while his brother, the Highlander Maddox, argued they must join the enemy to survive. When the dread hour came, Maddox stabbed his leader in the back to ally with the Horkos.
It was treason. Heathmoor’s ultimate crime.

Golden Age
The lost reliquary of Wyverndale has been unearthed by travelers from faraway lands. Among these treasures lies the Chalice of Immortality, an artifact that sheds light on the ancient past of Heathmoor. Long before the Cataclysm, Knights, Wu Lin, Samurai, and Vikings all lived in harmony in the ancient citadel of Wyverndale, which stood as a monument to peace and prosperity. This era of wonder was achieved thanks to the unprecedented efforts of Lord Ramiel, a heroic Knight who would become known as the First Warden. In a time of terrible war, Lord Ramiel sought to bring an end to the bloodshed by making a pact with the Great Wyvern – a mythical, fire-breathing creature. The Wyvern helped the Knight defeat his enemies and, together, they watched over Heathmoor for generations.
Learn MoreCurse of the Scarab
In the aftermath of the Great Cataclysm, the fearless Raider Bolthorn Raven-Hands embarked on a quest to restore his clan’s glory. Long had his people known hardship, and he journeyed to distant lands in search of treasure that might ease their suffering. No prize was so great as the Scarab Bracelet. The crowning jewel of a lost civilization, the relic’s magic promised to fill Valkenheim’s tables with meat and mead once more. And so Bolthorn betrayed a friend to steal it.
On his return, an odd sickness took hold of the Viking. Fell omens seemed to stalk his every step. Strange weather ravaged Valkenheim and the land’s meagre harvest withered. The phenomena spread across Heathmoor, its people falling like grass before the scythe. Doomed to deliver death rather than salvation, Bolthorn tried to cast off the Scarab Bracelet to no avail. It had found a new home.
Learn MoreThe Demon Dagger
Something has awakened in the Myre. For centuries, a cavern at the heart of the swamps was sealed off until a fissure split open. Ancient Samurai once knew the truth of the cave, but the echo of their warnings had faded across the ages to a whisper. It was a prison. Now demons, once banished to the bowels of the earth, have escaped. And after their long, unholy hibernation, the Yokai hunger.
Motoori noticed small signs first. The young Orochi was the first to warn of the villagers’ strange behavior. Honorable Nobushi babbled and cursed. Aramusha bent and twisted impossibly. At length, the eyes of the Samurai took on pale glows – the last mutation before their massacre on Temple Garden. By then the Yokai’s possession was complete. To save the survivors, Motoori told them of another fable: the Mamono Dagger, a mythical blade said to trap spirits of the Yokai. But the demon dagger bears a terrible cost... and none are worse cut than its wielder.
Learn MoreShattered Fates
Few know what happens in Arabia. Visitors have been long been forbidden. But with new sea routes opening Heathmoor to the secretive kingdom, the Sultana of Arabia finally opened the gates. First to enter was Commander Ravier, a top lieutenant of the Black Priors. She came as a diplomat. Yet while making overtures of friendship, Ravier's true orders were to find the Sultana's Celestial Sphere: a fabled relic said to foretell the future.
After much scheming, Ravier gained access to the relic. It showed her a flash of the future – a prophecy of Heathmoor’s fate. The secret would give the Black Priors just the advantage they needed to conquer their homeland. To ensure no one else might know the prophecy, the Black Priors shattered the Celestial Sphere. Then, for good measure, they burnt down Arabia's great libraries and put the Sultana to the sword. Commander Ravier was the one fate Arabia never saw coming.
Learn MoreYear 5
Asunder
After the Battle of the Eclipse, the Chimera Alliance and Order of Horkos fought relentlessly for years. As Heathmoor's population declined, people everywhere began to make 'Covenants', secret pacts to share intel and resources, with either Horkos or Chimera warriors. Covenants could be used to gain allies outside their faction, while rooting out the evil among their own. Sealing a Covenant was also a symbolic way to make a statement about the future. Would someone embrace the warmongering views of the Horkos, following strict codes and rituals to keep the strongest in their rightful place? Or would they rather fight for Chimera's ideals of solidarity and peace?
Learn MoreMirage
Warriors everywhere sealed new alliances through the Covenants, but another great enemy was about to challenge their renewed vigor. This new threat was not just another clan or army trying to reap more territories. After centuries of being spoiled and exhausted by humanity's thirst for power, Mother Nature herself was about to show the true extent of her burning wrath. An intense drought befell Heathmoor, endangering crops and fortifications everywhere. While the Horkos saw the calamity as another opportunity to prove their might, the Chimera struggled to maintain solidarity among their ranks, with less resources to share between themselves.
A new battle for water began. Warriors kept fighting, but also struggled to survive the scorching heat. As some battled in a secluded temple, strange visions followed their every step...
Learn MoreTempest
Under a scorching sun, the factions of Heathmoor long fought for water. But what was once scarce then came in overwhelming abundance. The unbearable heat of the drought melted the glaciers of Valkenheim and as a result, the water levels rose dangerously. Torrential rains and violent winds fell upon Heathmoor, with no end to the storm in sight.
The tempest had a devastating effect on the landscape, with flooding and landslides becoming the new norm, and both Horkos and Chimera fought to survive the sudden climate change. With the home they once knew overrun with water, warriors found themselves out of their element. All except the Vikings, for whom the storm had brought about rebirth… and an opportunity to reign supreme.
Learn MoreFrozen Shores
The people of Heathmoor were afflicted with rising waters and a devastating storm that flooded the landscape. Thankfully, the storm passed, and though the skies began to clear, a cold winter settled in. The high waters froze, and snow covered the terrain. Ships were stuck in the ice, which only added to the odd serenity that had befallen Heathmoor.
After so many hardships, so many battles and natural catastrophes, the people took this small respite as an opportunity to reconnect. After being separated for so long, friends and families were reunited once again, and everyone took the time to count their blessings, and celebrate. But amid the festivities, something unforeseen came from the frozen sea. A large ship with red sails reached the harbor, the herald of uncertainty – and intrigue.
Learn MoreYear 4
Hope
After so many signs, all believed the end of times was nigh. Yet the earth quietened down without warning, the skies cleared and a new dawn came. At long last, warriors felt hope and remembered those who once fought for peace. For the first time in history, the leaders of all factions gathered and agreed to cease their quarrel for a brief moment. They signed what was called the Truce of Wyverndale.
Learn MoreTyranny
A genuine feeling of hope grew in everyone’s heart as the Truce of Wyverndale convinced more and more people across Heathmoor. Yet a sinister threat was also brewing. As the celebrations of the Honor Games continued with a reenactment of past battles against Apollyon and the Blackstones, a group of mysterious warriors geared up and gathered secret allies from all factions. Peace would soon become a distant dream...
Learn MoreResistance
The Order of Horkos imposed a regime of terror and left many scars around the world. But in the most desperate times, a spark of rebellion is all they needed to bring back hope. As the warriors of Horkos seized several fortresses to conduct experiments with the Corruption, various groups of outcasts and mercenaries from all factions took up arms to reclaim their homes. Unexpected alliances were formed, and new Draconite weaponry was invented to fight the enemy back.
Learn MoreMayhem
With the help of Ilma, a legendary Blacksmith, many warriors across Heathmoor were able to regain fortresses and discover some of the Draconite's true powers. Yet all these rebellions needed someone to unite them in this pivotal moment. Someone who knew the enemy better than anyone else, because he was once part of them. Someone who had learned from his past mistakes and was now ready to make things right.
Learn MoreYear 3
Vortiger
Mt. Ignis’ eruption sent shockwaves through the lands. From out of this chaos rises a dark sect long forgotten. The Black Priors were once dark warriors of Apollyon and the Blackstone Legion. After the collapse of the Blackstone, the Black Priors disappeared. Some say they were wiped out, others say they fled the lands. But now, as new chaos shakes the lands, the Black Priors re-emerge. Led by their grim leader, Vortiger, these warriors, unbound by chivalry, promise victory to the Knights...by any means necessary.
Learn MoreSakura
A series of chilling incidents has plagued the Myre, and many believe they all began with Sakura, an infamous Hitokiri. Years ago, the Samurai executioner was taskedto sentence a peasant fisherman who had committed an odious crime. As Sakura rose her axe to deliver justice, she fell into a trance and slaughtered every living soul in the village. Many years have passed, and yet Kaidan is still rumored to be haunted by Sakura's victims. Some unfortunate warriors recently fought in the abandoned village, but only a few lived to tell the tale. They have seen things most people would not believe…
Learn MoreHulda
The darkest cults always creep back to the surface in times of despair and self-doubt. As the Knights marched on Valkenheim and conquered most of the North, the Vikings began to lose hope and turned to the Jormungandr for help. The Viking sectarians began to spread their ominous beliefs and crushed the weak in the name of their god, the Great Serpent. The legendary Hulda rose as a new leader among the Northerners and fought the bloodiest battles in Viking history to reclaim Valkenheim.
Learn MoreSun Da
After a massive sandstorm wrecked most of the Wu Lin territories, many fled west and sought refuge in Heathmoor, while others stayed behind with the Emperor to rebuild an army. Among them, Sun Da, leader of the Zhanhu, found new ways to use fire in his laboratory at Qiang Pass. As he tried to increase the Wu Lin arsenal, an unexpected enemy got wind of his discoveries and attacked the fortress...
