Thank you for participating in the Closed Beta

Over the last couple of weeks, Rainbow Six fans from across the globe played in the biggest testing period of our game yet. We want to say thank you to everyone who participated and gave us valuable feedback. It’s been a long road to get to this point and we really appreciate having you be a part of the journey. Everyone who participated in the Closed Beta will be getting a special weapon skin at launch as our way of saying thanks.

The primary focus was to test matchmaking and push the limits of our online infrastructure. As our online architect, Lorenzo Aurea, says, “every issue you experience during the beta is potentially one less issue you’ll see at launch.” We made some temporary improvements to matchmaking during the testing period, but now we move on to implementing long term solutions that should provide a much smoother experience at launch.

Of course, the gameplay and your feedback from the Closed Beta is very important for us too. In a couple of weeks we’ll release an infographic detailing some of the more interesting gameplay stats we found. We’re also currently reviewing the feedback we received on the subreddit and forums, across social channels, and directly from players streaming or sharing their gameplay content. We’re currently sending out surveys and some players will be selected to participate in a feedback deep-dive on a private forum. As we did after the Closed Alpha, we’ll follow up in the next few weeks with a blog post detailing how we’re addressing that feedback (don’t worry, we know shields and bombers are at the top of that list!).

This was a massive undertaking for the development team and we learned a lot in the process. For a game that we plan on supporting over the long term after launch, this was a critical milestone and we’re thankful that you all made it possible. We hope you had a good time and we’ll talk to you again soon.
