The Six Major Paris is coming up soon! Will you be one of the six teams to earn a spot?
Halfway through the six-month-long Season 8, 16 of the best teams across four regions (Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific) will meet in France to compete in the biggest Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® competition held in Europe to date, complete with a total prize pool of $350,000! By qualifying in the Six Major, amateur teams will also get the opportunity to prove themselves against pro teams and qualify for the LAN event. Here is all the information you need to get involved in the upcoming Open Qualifiers.
Europe, North America and Latin America
Step 1 (June 11 - June 22): Anyone can sign-up to the first stage of the Qualifiers. The participants will battle it out against each other in a ladder, through a matchmaking system that automatically selects your opponents. Each match in the ladder will be a Bo2 game. If there are more than 64 teams signing up per region, 16 teams will qualify for the closed tournament. If there are less than 64 teams signing up per region, 8 teams will qualify for the closed tournament (see step 2 below).
Step 2 (June 24 - June 28): 8 or 16 teams with the highest number of points from the ladder and 8 teams from Challenger League will proceed to the closed tournament. The format of the tournament will feature five rounds of Swiss system where each competitors will play a Bo3 game.
Step 3 (July 1 – July 5): The top ten teams from the closed tournament will take part in the Final stage against the six remaining Pro League teams. The teams will be set in a double elimination bracket and play their matches played in a best-of-3 format. The winner of each closed qualifier will take a spot at the Six Major, except the regions which have an extra spot based on last Pro League Finals performances (EU & LATAM).
APAC
Each of the four APAC sub-regions will have their own online open qualifier - the winner of which will attend an offline qualifier shortly thereafter. The single best team from the offline qualifier will claim the third APAC slot for the Six Major Paris.
Step 1 (June 17): The teams will play in a Swiss system format in a Bo1 game. The Open competition can continue until June 23 if we have not determined a clear winner.
Step 2 (June 24): The offline qualifiers finalists will be determined by a Bo3 single elimination bracket. The best team from the Open competition will compete against the seven remaining Pro League teams. As Fnatic and NORA Rengo are already Qualified for the Major, Korea and South East Asia will have an additional spot for the open Qualifier. The winner of each closed qualifier will take a spot at the Six Major Qualifiers LAN Finals.
