Hello Warriors!
We saw that you had questions about the impact of Ubisoft Connect and next-gen backward-compatibility on For Honor.
Ubisoft Connect is the ecosystem of player services for games across all platforms, as well as the desktop application on PC. It will provide stats tracking, as well as ongoing challenges and rewards.
In addition to Ubisoft Connect, here are the features coming to For Honor on next-gen consoles:
- Improved Water Reflections
- Improved Distance Level of Detail
- Improved Shadow Resolution
- Improved Texture Filtering
- 4k Resolution (Xbox Series X, PS5) / 1080 p (Xbox Series S)
- 60FPS (Xbox Series X/S, PS5) Coming at the beginning of Y4S4
With the release of a new generation of consoles and the launch of Ubisoft Connect, we know there are a lot of questions. To help, we’ve put together some examples that we hope will clear things up. Please take a moment to look them over.
Q: Will cross-platform play be included in For Honor?
A: There are currently no plans to bring cross-platform play to For Honor.
This means players in the Xbox console family, the PlayStation console family, and PC players will not be able to play with each other.
Q. Will cross-generation play be included in For Honor?
A. Yes, cross-gen play will be available for those playing within the same family of consoles.
Example: PlayStation 4, Playstation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5 players can play together. The same goes for Xbox One (S/X) and Xbox Series (S/X).
Q. How does the Ubisoft Connect experience impact For Honor players?
A: The Ubisoft Connect experience should feel similar to Uplay and Ubisoft Club. On For Honor, Core Challenges and the Rewards system will work slightly differently, but the other Club/Uplay features you know will be much the same.
Q. What happens with all my purchases and my progression if I get a next-gen console?
A: Cross-gen progression is available within the same console family. If you decide to move to next-gen, all your purchases and progression will be available to you seamlessly when playing with the same account.
Example: Purchases and progression made on PlayStation 4 will be available to you on PlayStation 5, provided you are using the same PSN account.
Q. I’m a PC player, will my progression and purchases transfer to next-gen consoles?
A. No, purchases and progression are not platform transferable.
Q. If I own the physical disc version of the game and purchase a digital-only console, will I be able to play the game?
A. It is not possible to play a physical disc version of the game on digital only consoles. Players who currently own a physical disc version, and upgrade to a digital-only console, will need to obtain a digital version of For Honor.
Note: Players who own a digital version of For Honor will be able to download the game on next-gen consoles within the same console family.
We’d like to thank you all for your questions. We can’t wait for you to play the new enhanced For Honor experience on next-gen consoles!
We’ll see you on the battlefield!
