Developed in partnership with Kodansha (Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga), Assassin's Creed Shadows - Iga no Monogatari is the official prequel to the game, focusing on events happening a few years before Naoe and Yasuke embark on their adventure. With a game set in Japan, a manga felt like the best storytelling format to offer deeper insight on Iga and its inhabitants.
Featuring younger versions of important characters of the game, such as Hattori Hanzo or Fujibayashi Nagato, the manga follows the arrival of the Assassins and Templars in Japan, and sets the pieces in motion for a deadly confrontation between our historical foes. Centred on Iga, it develops a rich background for fans and newcomers alike.
Illustrated by talented mangaka regujie, the manga is an ode to the beauty of Feudal Japan, and is filled with intense sword fights and violent confrontations. Serialization will begin March 20th on Weekly Young Magazine website in Japan, but expect localizations in English, French and other languages to hit the shelves very soon.
