Spartans, prepare for battle! Assassin's Creed Odyssey is out now, so you can Sparta-kick enemies off the highest cliffs in Ancient Greece to your heart's content. You'll play as either Kassandra or Alexios, outcast Spartan mercenaries fighting amid the Peloponnesian War to discover the true mystery of their past.
Set in an immense, open-world version of Ancient Greece, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a full-fledged RPG that lets you customize and upgrade your gear, abilities, and ship to suit your playstyle. You'll be able to shape your own destiny as well, with new focus on player choice and an interactive dialogue system ensuring that many of your decisions will have meaningful consequences. One decision you'll make throughout Odyssey is which faction you'll side with – Athens or Sparta – as you take part in huge Conquest Battles that can dramatically shift the balance of power across Greece.
More nefarious decisions, like killing or theft, will put a bounty on your head and attract the ire of nearby mercenaries. These relentless hunters are some of the most powerful enemies in the game, and if your bounty climbs high enough, you're likely to have more than one on your tail, leading to an extremely challenging fight or an untimely death.
Throughout your adventure you will explore the vast and numerous islands of Greece. Your ship, the Adrestia, will help you navigate the blue waters of the Aegean Sea as you engage in fast-paced naval warfare, dive for sunken treasure, discover new locations, and recruit lieutenants to better your ship.
The launch of Assassin's Creed Odyssey is just the beginning of your journey through Ancient Greece. With a robust post-launch plan that includes both free and Season Pass content, players will be able to continue their odyssey with timed, episodic story content in the months to come.
