Ubisoft Philippines Ranks Top 8 in Local List of Most Attractive Employers

Ubisoft Philippines was recently certified as a Great Place to Work ®, but we have more to celebrate! In a recent survey, our studio ranked Top 8 in a list of 100 Most Attractive Employers among local IT students.

The survey was done by Universum, a global employer branding agency, to get insights on students’ career aspirations across different areas of study. Over 8,400 students participated from 53 universities in the country.

Ubisoft Philippines also placed in the Top 100 among other students in the same survey out of 133 employers.

One of our key strategies as a studio is to work closely with the industry – particularly with young aspiring talent.

That’s why, as the first AAA co-development studio in the country, we’re happy to see massive interest in game development as a career choice.

Pioneer in Game Dev Education

Since 2016, we have actively partnered with the academe in building the local industry.

Together with De La Salle University (DLSU), we have launched two full degree programs: BS Interactive Entertainment Major in Game Development and Major in Game Art & Design.

Our Ubisoft professionals have been serving as instructors, mentors, speakers, panelists and portfolio reviewers.

To date there are a total of 215 students taking the courses, with the first batch expected to graduate in 2023 – students that have been actively mentored and guided by our team.

Outside DLSU, we continue to organize free workshops and portfolio reviews. We have taught and gathered students across other Philippine schools such as Ateneo De Naga University, College of St. Benilde, Asia Pacific College and more.

We also take advantage of events such as the E-Sports and Gaming Summit, Asia Pop Comic Con, and various Game Jams, where we set up our own talks and meet with hundreds of students and professionals.

Even during the pandemic, we kept reaching out to the community. In fact, just last year, we launched our first set of webinars, The Ubiversity Series, which gathered a total of over 500 virtual participants. Their feedback? Do more webinars.

We’re glad we’re able to share our expertise and encourage young people to take the leap of faith.

More and more students are seeing not just prospective careers in Ubisoft but also a bright future in the game development industry as a whole.   As for us, we’re always looking to inspire more talent – to set the stage for AAA and define the future of video games and beyond.
