Being a part of pride is incredibly important to us – it is a time for us to celebrate how far we have come over the years in supporting and empowering our LGBTQ+ friends, families, and neighbours.
In previous years, many of our wonderful colleagues took part in the Pride Parade across the city and had the opportunity to see some of the glamourous stars that graced the Main Stage and got involved in the festivities that so many members of our community worked tirelessly to organise and manage the event.
Ubisoft EMEA CRC & Ubisoft Reflections were due to continue sponsorship of the Curious Arts stage at this year’s Northern Pride parade. Sadly, the parade wasn’t to be, but lockdown wasn’t going to get in the way of celebrating Pride month, even from home. Take a look at what we got up to....
We began by bringing the iconic rainbow flag into the homes of our workforce by updating our lockscreens. Our message focused on the importance behind celebrating and raising awareness, provided local charity contacts for volunteering opportunities and useful sites to educate & celebrate LGBTQ+ communities. A guide to 30 of the best LGBTQ+ films was also included – one for each day of Pride month!
A UBIPROUD Slack channel was created encouraging our team to take a trip down memory lane, dig out old photos and share their favourite Pride moments & memories. Once again, thank you to anyone sharing insights into their personal experiences, especially to help others. You are all truly inspirational!
We’re big fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race at the CRC! The team were gagged when Assassins Creed superfan fan Cheryl Hole sent us a motivational message to keep our spirits up while working from home!
Our Social Committee transformed our monthly UBI-Drinks into a Pride extravaganza! Including LGBTQ+ scavenger hunt, Pride knowledge quiz and ending with Pride anthems. We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive workplace at Ubisoft EMEA CRC. Together we can help promote positive dialogue and continue to develop how we show support to our LGBTQ+ workforce and wider community in meaningful ways all year round. I pledge to be a better ally to my LGBTQ+ colleagues, friends and family by continuing to educate myself – what will you do?
