Assassin’s Creed®: The Rebel Collection – Top in-game moments

To celebrate the release of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Rogue on Nintendo Switch™ on December 6, we asked some members of the Mentors Guild, our group of most active community members, to reminiscence about their favorite moments from playing those games.

Assassin's Creed® IV Black Flag®

Sailing the open seas

The breath-taking world of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag offered freedom like never before!

At the helm of the Jackdaw, players could seamlessly explore a huge map filled with ships to battle and exciting locations to explore. Whether you were looking for plunder or peaceful exploration, there was always something for you on the open sea! But sailing wouldn't have been the same without the memorable shanties. From "Lowlands Away" to "Leave her Johnny," there were plenty of incredible pirate songs to be found in the open world.

Meeting Blackbeard

Of all the famous pirates from the Golden Age of Piracy, Edward Thatch, also known as Blackbeard, might be the most iconic. Having him as a friend and mentor for Edward Kenway was a true highlight for our players, who got to see the human behind the legend.

The last mission by his side, along with his final words, "In a world without gold, we might have been heroes," truly left an impression on the community.

Exploring Great Inagua

Great Inagua is one of the many exotic locations players could explore in the game, and it is also a fan favorite. From its dense jungles to its living dock, the lush island used as a home base by Edward Kenway and his crew had plenty of secrets to be discovered!

The Parting Glass

It is when Anne Bonny started singing "The Parting Glass," the traditional Scottish song, that a much wiser Edward Kenway finally took the time to reflect on his long journey, realizing how far he had come and how much he had lost along the way. This scene is still, to this date, one of the most emotional from the series.

Assassin's Creed® Rogue

Adewale vs Shay

Introduced in Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag as Edward's quartermaster, Adewale later became an important figure of the Assassin Brotherhood. With former Assassin Shay Cormac switching sides and joining the Templars, the confrontation between the two was inevitable and became a memorable moment for players.

The Lisbon Earthquake

Shay's journey took him to Lisbon, where he witnessed the destruction of the city by a deadly earthquake. Inspired by a true historical event, this fast-paced mission, in which Shay had to run for his life, was a great opportunity for fans to enjoy the smoothness of the parkour system and discover a brand-new city never seen before in the series.

To be continued...

Shay's final mission took him to Paris where he completed a final mission for the Templar Order... This surprising ending was not only a great send-off for our Irish character, but also a nice way to tease what would come next in Assassin's Creed® Unity!
