“WHERE THERE’S A WALL, THERE’S A WAY”
- THERMITE
Every week we will unveil a new Operator Spotlight - going into detail on the background, inspiration, and gameplay of each operator. Please keep in mind that operators are a work in progress, and information is still subject to change by launch.
A former marine, Jordan Trace served two years in Iraq and earned a degree in Chemistry after his discharge. Upon graduation, he joined the FBI as a field agent and later transferred to the SWAT unit. He carries an explosive breach charge he developed with the FBI SWAT engineering team that is capable of burning through the most resilient barriers.
Thermite is an unstoppable breacher, a very useful operator to pick while playing against enemies who are heavy on fortifications. He is the only Operator that can blow up reinforced walls with his exothermic charge. You can either customize Thermite's loadout with Frag Grenades, to attack enemies following a breach; or with the standard breach charge, to flank the enemies' defenses and use one of the charges as a diversion.
Be careful though: exothermic charges can't be detonated while inside a Jamming Device radius so make sure you are clear before wasting your charges. They can also be disabled once triggered if they are shot or receive explosive damage before they detonate. Finally, exothermic charges take a bit of time to detonate after triggered so keep that in mind when coordinating your breach.
Developed by FBI SWAT engineers, the BRIMSTONE was designed to breach reinforced locations utilizing a compact and portable explosive load that can deliver maximum force and destruction. The BRIMSTONE was effectively utilized in the field during a rescue operation in which several people were held hostage in a fortified farm house. The destructive power of the BRIMSTONE allowed agents to breach a reinforced metal security door at the back of the house.
