It’s official! We’re happy to introduce Lenovo Legion as the official PC and monitor sponsor of the Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League and Majors in an exclusive global partnership. The partnership will extend for the duration of the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League season, from spring 2018 through spring 2019 across North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Lenovo is providing a range of high-performance gaming hardware that will be put into the hands of some of the world’s most dedicated and skilled Rainbow Six Siege players to push their limits in competition. The partnership also includes co-branding and co-promotion, as well as an invitation for fans to join global giveaways, plus a unique in-game Lenovo Legion charm that can be unlocked through an in-game challenge.
“Forming partnerships is an important part of Lenovo’s gaming strategy. With Ubisoft, we share a deep commitment in supporting the professional esports community and gaming fanbase,” said Jeff Meredith, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Lenovo’s Consumer PCs and Smart Devices. “Combining Lenovo’s consumer technology expertise with Ubisoft’s competitive and immersive content was a natural fit to offer gaming enthusiasts a best-in-class gaming and viewing experience.”
“The signing of this key partnership with Lenovo Legion is a clear signal that the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League is reaching maturity, now attracting major partners while continuously growing,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, Ubisoft EMEA. “We cannot wait to unfold the extent of this partnership during our key events throughout the year, for instance at the Six Major Paris this August.”
We announced a new format this year for the Rainbow Six esports scene. Starting in June 2018, a typical year in Pro League will consist of two six-month seasons. This revamped formula will also feature two Majors, events where the most intense Rainbow Six: Siege action will unfold. In addition to the Six Invitational each February, a “Six Major” will take place in August. As a first edition, the Six Major Paris will take place in Paris on August 2018. The Six Major Paris and the Six Invitational will grant $350,000 and $500,000 prize pools respectively, and both events will feature 16 teams from across the world. More information on the new format will be discussed during the esports panel this Sunday, May 20th, during the Pro League Season 7 finals.
Lenovo Legion PCs and monitors will be showcased this weekend during the Pro League Season 7 Finals, taking place at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City on May 19th to 20th. The Finals will include the top two teams from each of the four Pro League regions: Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and, playing home, North America. These teams will be going head to head to determine who will claim the title of Pro League Champion! You can catch the action all weekend long on our official Twitch channel.
