After one of the closest LAN events in Rainbow Six history, Team Liquid were crowned as champions, finally brining a title back to the Latin America region after so many close calls.
PENTA Sports were the first team to claim their spot in the final, after single handedly destroying the hopes of the home crowd. Their first matchup was a rematch of the Six Invitational final, and once more the European team beat Evil Geniuses in a close match ending 2-1. They faced off against Rogue in the semifinals, and yet again it went to three maps with PENTA coming out on top to book a spot in the final. Their opponents in the grand final had to battle through one of closest semifinals we have ever seen, heading into a tense overtime on the final map. Team Liquid managed to beat Millenium, trading maps before going the distance on Border to finally take the win. Earlier in the event, Liquid managed to beat the Australian team of Fnatic, in what was the only match of the weekend to end 2-0.
Today we weren't just the second best team, but team liquid was the very best. I'm super happy for the incredibly humble and talented players on their roster, I remember my first win very clearly, congrats! @neskwga @canalzigueira I'd tag you all but I'm out of text ♥ SALVE 🇧🇷

PENTA took the first map of the final with ease. They went on a four round streak to kick things off, with Juhani "Kantoraketti" Toivonen racking up 10 kills and no deaths in those opening rounds. Liquid did pull one round back but PENTA swiftly ended the map 5-1 soon after. Map two was a much closer affair. Liquid ended up 4-1 up at one point and looked like they may reverse the scoreline of map one, but a strong use of the new tactical timeout changed PENTA’s fortunes as they came in with a new plan. PENTA then won three maps in a row to force overtime and a trade of rounds meant it all came down to the 11th round. Things looked good for PENTA, but within a few seconds Liquid took them down and won the round, forcing a map decider to Consulate. Everything came down to map three and it did not disappoint. PENTA may have dominated map one, but it was Liquid who were commanding, taking it with a 5 -1 scoreline to become the first ever Latin America champions. There were tears in the eyes of Liquid as they lifted the trophy, and were officially crowned as the Season 7 Champions.
The world is not big enough for these guys #LetsGoLiquid
O mundo é pequeno demais para esses rapazes. Isso é Liquid, isso é Brasil! #EuSouLiquid pic.twitter.com/6Q82k3XjWB

The Latin America region has long been a competitor in the world of Siege, but now there is no doubting that they are just as good as the likes of North America and Europe. What is even more impressive is that Liquid came in as the number two seed from Latin America, and while FaZe Clan may have fallen early, they put up too a great showing. There may have been question marks before, but now there is no doubt that you have to consider any Latin America team that makes it to a LAN a favorite to win the event.
