To give a bit of background on our HITRECORD partnership, it all started as we were trying to think of ways on how to enable fans of Beyond Good and Evil to get involved with the development of the new game, instead of just being pure spectators as we roll out blogs, livestreams, etc.
That’s been part of the Space Monkey Program motto (“Inspire, Participate, Play”) since the beginning, the question being “How do we invite fans to participate more actively in a game’s development?”
We figured featuring a few fan-generated components in the game — imagery and songs that people could work together on — could be a very cool way to do just that, but we weren’t quite sure how we could do that.
As it turns out, making games is a creative process, and then we heard of HITRECORD. HITRECORD has fostered a great community that allows absolutely anyone to contribute into the making of... virtually anything creative.
So if you’re a fan of the game and are interested in contributing to what we’re making, our partnership is our way to welcome you to do that.
Now, HitRecord values paying their community for projects they collaborate on — and, have a long history of doing so. We respect that and we want to pay contributors too, which is why, in this first phase, we allocated $50,000.
We hope that that’s cleared things up, we’re happy to be getting tons of contributions from our fans and looking forward to integrating them to the game we’re making.
