THE STAGE 1 OF THE ASIA-PACIFIC LEAGUE STARTS ON MARCH 16TH
11 March 2022With the Six Invitational 2022 done and dusted, teams from the Asia-Pacific League have proved they are a force to be reckoned with in the Rainbow Six Esports circuit as the community witnessed the impressive performances of DWG KIA and Elevate throughout the competition.
We are thrilled to announce that the Asia-Pacific League will be back on Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 for the beginning of Stage 1.
Stage 1 will be crucial for competing teams looking to qualify for the upcoming Six Major and score points in the Global Standings with hopes of earning a spot for the Six Invitational 2023.
apac league format updates
To better cater to the specificities of the region, we have decided to change the format for the Asia-Pacific League Playoffs this season, to decide the 4 teams from the region to qualify for that stage's Six Major. At the end of each stage, the 4 best teams from the North Division and the South Division will compete in the Playoffs, for a total of 8 teams. As opposed to last season, the number one seed in the North and South Divisions will therefore not be automatically qualified for the Six Major, but will compete for their spot in the Playoffs.
- All 8 teams will compete in a double elimination bracket with the top 4 teams qualifying for the Six Major.
- While only the top 4 teams will get a chance to compete in the Six Major, all 8 teams qualified for the Playoffs in each stage will score points in the Global Standings in the race towards the Six Invitational 2023.
More details on the Asia-Pacific League Playoffs will be shared later on.
