We’re thrilled to share with you information about the Six Invitational 2019 APAC Qualifiers. The Six Invitational itself will take place from February 15th to 17th at Place Bell in Montréal, Canada. The competition will feature the highest level of Rainbow Six gameplay, as the top sixteen teams in the world from across four regions battle it out for the title of World Champion and the biggest prize pool in Siege’s history - a minimum of $1,000,000 USD and growing thanks to the pilot program.
Out of the 16 teams that will make it to the competition, nine teams have already qualified, including the APAC teams Nora-Rengo (Japan) and FNATIC (Australia) thanks to their Pro League Season 8 performances. Other teams from the region still have a chance to advance to the Six Invitational to occupy the single remaining APAC slot by participating in the APAC online qualifiers.
Each of the four APAC sub-regions will have their own online open qualifier. Firstly, participating teams will battle it out in a double elimination bracket with all matches being played in a best-of-1 format. Then, the closed qualifier will bring together the top teams, which will take part in a double elimination bracket, played in a best-of-3 format. The single best team from each of the four sub-regions will then fly out to the ESL Studios in Sydney, Australia, to determine who who we will see alongside Nora-Rengo and FNATIC in Montreal! The schedule of the Six Invitational APAC Online Qualifier looks as follows:
Open Qualifier, Day 1 - Saturday, December 8th
Open Qualifier, Day 2 - Sunday, December 9th
Closed Qualifier, Day 1 - Saturday, December 15th
Closed Qualifier, Day 2 - Sunday, December 16th
