Breaking Down the Mid-Season Roster Shuffle

With huge organizations entering the scene and rosters subbing out longtime members, many teams have seen some major changes to their lineup since we last saw them play. This article will cover all the changes since the first half of season 8 ended.

First up, let's take a look at North America as this region saw some of the most unexpected moves during the transfer period. Evil Geniuses' coach BKN departed the team to be replaced by former player Necrox. Necrox’s shoes are currently filled by Geoometrics, a player previously on Rogue's roster, and Pro League's only Mexican player.

Rogue and Spacestation Gaming also made changes, swapping Bryan and Shuttle between their rosters. Occupying the remaining open spot on Rogue’s roster is Supr, who previously played on eRa Eternity at the 2018 Six Invitational.

Finally in North America, England, who previously played for Counter Logic Gaming, has joined mousesports to replace Neptunez. On Cloud9, Viirus moves to a coaching role in order to assist Robn who has been called to duty by the US Air Force.

Meanwhile in Europe, fewer teams got involved in the trade window with many opting to keep the same lineup. OrgLess saw the biggest changes during the transfer period with PARAA, Hungry and AceeZ all leaving to be replaced by newcomers BakaBryan and Korey in addition to signing a new substitute, Vale.

AceeZ has joined Millenium to replace Joghurtzz, while Hungry and SirBoss, previous player for T3H Esports, stepped in to replace Alive and Voy in the Mock-it Esports roster.

The biggest change in the European scene came as four teams were picked up by new organisations. The most notable of these saw esports juggernaut G2 Esports acquire PENTA Sports’ roster just before the Paris Major, a competition they would go on to win.

PENTA Sports remained committed to Rainbow 6 through their acquisition of Mock-it Esports’ roster. With the Mock-it lacking an active lineup, German team of OrgLess at last found a home. DreamHack Valencia’s champions "I Don't Know" were picked up by Team Secret securing sponsorship for all free agents in Pro League.

Last but not least, the Latin American region remained fairly consistent, with just 5 players changing teams. FaZe Clan's team leader GohaN has moved himself to the bench to be replaced by Yoona from paiN Gaming, who himself is being replaced by Ninex, Pro League semi-finalist from Black Dragons’ Season 5 playoff run.

The only other changes saw Sm4ll join Black Dragons to replace DocKy. Lastly, the coaches of both FaZe Clan and Ninjas in Pyjamas, bor and Twister, have stepped down from their roles.
