We sat down with all four of the Latin American casters to get their thoughts on the four teams from their region attending the Paris Major! Here’s what they had to say:
André “Meligeni” Santos about Team Liquid:
Team Liquid has become more mature in a short amount of time; something I think even the team didn’t expect. All of this was possible due to all of the support that the organization gives to their players. From a terrible campaign at the Six Invitational to a brilliant Pro League championship, Team Liquid has the potential to surprise all of the other teams again and win the Six Major. Attacking, they are versatile and clever. Defending, they are aggressive and very good on rotations. All of this could be crucial to grant them a victory in Paris.
Ricardo “Qep” Fugi about Ninjas in Pyjamas:
NiP has a lot of potential as a team, but they unfortunately haven’t been able to adapt to the new META. At the beginning of the Pro League, Psycho0 said that teams like their own, ones with consolidated tactics, were having difficulties playing after the implementation of the operator ban. They are having a hard time executing their defense during matches due to the implementation of the operator ban feature. NiP travels to Paris with two consecutive losses in Pro League, but the players’ LAN experience could be helpful in getting a positive result for their team. I believe that a good mindset and a lot of training can help them to redeem themselves at the Major!
Guilherme “GuizaO” Kemen about Immortals:
Immortals arrive in Paris with good chances to win the Major. They have an aggressive style that could hold up very well against other teams at the event, as many of these teams have problems playing against that particular aggressive style. The only thing that worries me is the pressure on the players; they are not used to playing at huge events like this. Their mental preparation will be fundamental to their success at Six Major.
Otávio “Retalha” Ceschi about FaZe Clan:
This has been one of the most unpredictable seasons the Rainbow Six scene. FaZe Clan did not have a great start in the Pro League this season, but overtime they have improved and become more adapted to the new META. One of the advantages that FaZe has going into this event compared to their previous international experiences will be the addition of a coach. Their coach, Thigo “Bor” Borinelli, might be the element missing to help them to get to the top. They have very accurate individual skills and I’m hoping that they’ll have a good mindset heading into this event.
