For Honor launches its second Public Test where players will once again get to try new features before they are implemented into the game. The test will run from June 27th to July 31st, and all For Honor PC players are invited to participate. Public Test 2 focuses on new changes that aim to address the “defensive meta” while also allowing players to experience new improvements to the previously tested Duel Tournament feature.
If you are late to the party, the Duel Tournament allows players to experience For Honor more competitively with the introduction of a ranking system (from Bronze to Diamond) where players follow a tournament format starting in a qualifier stage and ending in single elimination matches with the goal of being the last warrior standing. The changes made to Duel Tournament in Public Test 2 include improvements to ranking representation, matchmaking, map selection, etc.
Another focus of For Honor’s Public Test 2 are fight system adjustments made to address the current defensive meta of the game in an attempt to better balance offensive and defensive play styles. For all the details on the defensive meta changes, please visit our dev blog

As the title of “Public Test” indicates, this is indeed a testing phase for the game’s incoming feature(s). Any progress and rewards earned during the Public Test will not be saved once the test period is over on July 31st. It is also likely that players encounter some bugs and glitches as they play. Rest assured, that the main reason for the Public Test is to get feedback from you and to be able make the necessary adjustments to ensure the best possible gamer experience at the feature’s official release.
