Open Beta FAQ

Q: What is the purpose of this Open Beta?
Step onto the battlefield in our Open Beta and help lead your faction to victory in the War of the Factions. Then give us your feedback to help build best the best experience of For Honor for launch in February 2017.

Q: How long does the Open Beta last?
The For Honor’s Open Beta begins on February 9th at 3 PM CET and runs through February 12 at 11 PM CET. You can pre-load the game starting February 6th.

Q: On which platform is the Open Beta?
The Open Beta will be available on Xbox One, PS4, PC Uplay and PC Steam.

Q: What will be the content of the Open Beta?
The Open Beta will include:

  • 9 Heroes (Warden, Peacekeeper, Conqueror, Raider, Berserker, Warlord, Kensei, Orochi, Nobushi) out of 12 available at launch
  • 4 multiplayer modes (Dominion 4v4, Elimination 4v4, Brawl 2v2, Duel 1v1) out of 5 available at launch
  • 6 multiplayer maps out of 12 available at launch
  • The Faction War

Q: How different is that content from the Closed Beta one?
The Open Beta will feature one more multiplayer mode, Elimination, for a total of 4 modes playable in the Open Beta. Elimination will be playable on the 6 included maps.

Q: How do I access the Open Beta?
The Open Beta is free and open to everyone (in supported countries). You don't need a code to enter, simply go to your platform shop, download and play:
XBOX ONE: From your Xbox One, Go to Games and search for For Honor Beta

PS4: From your Playstation 4, Go to the Playstation Store and search for For Honor Beta

  • For Germany only : due to a USK+18 rating, a PS+ account is required to download and play the game
  • In Japan : due to a CeroZ rating, the For Honor Open Beta build is available for at a cost of 100Y (refundable)

UPLAY PC: Launch Uplay PC, For Honor Beta will be in your Free Games list

STEAM: From the launcher: Launch Steam, look for For Honor store page in the Store section to find the Open Beta, Click on "Play now" button to download the Open Beta in your library.

Q: Can I talk externally about the Open Beta? Can I post pictures or stream my game?
Yes. You can share your best moments with your friends on any channel you'd like.

Q: Will I need to redownload the beta if I have the Closed Beta installed?
No, you'll be able to download a small update and be set to play in the Open Beta. Patch will be available available from February 6th.

Q: Will my progress from Closed Beta still be there?
No, your progress in the Closed Beta won't carry on in the Open Beta.

Q: Can I pre-load the Open Beta game?
Yes, pre-load will start on February 6th

Q: Do I need to be connected online to play?
Yes. For Honor is an online game with a persistent world, you will need to be connected online at all times to play.

Q: How To Get Back For Honor Closed Beta If You Deleted It And Convert It Into Open Beta Client?
From the start of the preload, you will be able to download the build and get ready to enter the battlefield.

On PS4:
Go to your PS4's games library.
Select For Honor Closed Beta client from there.
Select Download.
Now download the Open Beta patch, it will update your closed beta client to open beta client.

On Xbox One
Go to "Ready To Install" Tab, it is located next to the Games App.
Select For Honor Closed beta client and select download
For those who have hidden the closed beta client from the ""Ready to Install"" tab, you need to hold down triggers and press X. This will allow you to see all the hidden apps.

On Uplay PC:
Go to Uplay PC Library and download the closed beta client
Download the patch which will convert your closed beta client to open beta.

Q: What are the PS4 technical requirements?
To be able to play the Open Beta, your PS4 must meet the following requirements:

  • High Speed Internet Connection
  • 27GB of available storage space

Q: What are the Xbox One technical requirements?
To be able to play the Open Beta your Xbox One must meet the following requirements:

  • High Speed Internet Connection
  • Xbox Live Gold Account
  • Download size: 27 GB
  • Sharing content privacy, located under Xbox Live privacy & safety account settings, must be set to "everybody" to create and share your emblem.
  • Joining Multiplayer Gameplay must be allowed in the privacy & Online safety setting of your profile.

Q: What are the PC technical requirements?
To be able to play the Open Beta, your PC must meet the following requirements:

Q: What are the game languages supported during the For Honor Open Beta?

Q: What countries are supported?
The Open Beta will be available for all countries with the exception of North Korea and Mainland China.

Q: Are we playing the full game?
This Open Beta comprises a limited portion of the game and is a work in progress – it’s not the full nor the final game. For Honor will include more Heroes, more modes - including a full-fledged story mode, more maps and more features when the game launches on February 14th, 2017.

Q: How can I access the Open Beta event forums?
During the test, the announcements subforum (INSERT LINK HERE) will be your main destination to keep you informed on the latest news and updates. Important messages can also be broadcasted in the game’s main menu.

Feedback and suggestions can be made in the Game Feedback subforum (INSERT LINK HERE). Make sure to file your feedback in the most relevant section. Your feedback is very important for us and is the main reason why we’re doing this Open Beta, so we would love to hear from you!

Q: How can I report a bug?
Please do not hesitate to report any issue you may encounter in the game. We want to gather your feedback to build the best experience for our players when For Honor releases on the 14th of February.

Q: For Honor Player Activities
The For Honor Player Activities is part of the game experience.

During this Open Beta you will have access to some of the game features on the Web.

EMBLEM EDITOR
Create, edit and manage all you game emblems on the Web.

PLAYER STATS
See your progress and compare your hero stats with your Uplay friends.

ORDERS
Consult the available orders.

All features require that you log in using the same Ubisoft account you used to play the the game.

Q: Where can I purchase the game?
