The Eye of the Wanderer makes it easy to keep track of important places you have discovered by allowing you to save a screenshot to your map.
See a chest you can’t reach yet?
See a platforming path you can’t cross yet until you get more time-powers?
See a blocked path you can’t reach yet?
Use the Eye and the Memory Shards to help remind you of the place once you have unlocked the technics needed to get there.
To outline the entirety of a biome, pieces of the map can be purchased from Fariba in each respective biomes. Listen for her humming to find her.
Purchase a piece of the map for 50 time crystals to update your Eye of the Wanderer and you will be able to see where you have yet to explore.
